Welcome to DECOtimes - Surface Gel Tek's bi-monthly newsletter. Thanks for clicking in. We are dedicated to sharing the "knowledge". After 10 years of taking advantage of every possible opportunity to learn, we feel we have some information worth sharing. Check out the training schedule at the bottom of this newsletter! Flattoos™ Head to the New Yankee Stadium  Surface Gel Tek is working with contractors Scott Griffin, Ameri-Can Concrete Solutions and Mike Greig of Surface Solutions - NY - on the decorative concrete projects for the new Yankee Stadium. Mike and Scott are using SGT's HD24 for the concrete surface preparation and SGT will be providing them with all the graphic Flattoos for both the floors and the walls. Some of the images we've discussed with them are Hall of Fame names and faces, retired numbers, Yankee logos, favorite sayings, i.e. Yogi Berra's "It aint over til it's over", baseballs with stitching and so much more.Scott and Mike have been working with the Yankee's design team for almost a year now and their work has finally started. However, during the "design" year, there were times when they could have lost this contract but their diligence and expertise paid off. When they contacted SGT, we were more than willing and excited to produce graphic sample panels for Scott and Mike to hand deliver to the Yankee design team. We brainstormed and made suggestions that allowed them to be on their "game" for their presentation to the design team. This has turned out to be a fantastic project to work on with them. Speaking of www.metrocrete.com, Ed Winslow, owner, is offering special feature articles to contractors, free of charge. Ed's primary interest is in educating applicators on what's out there, where the industry is going, what works and what has problems. In short education! Featured Contractor: Classic Concrete Design, Durham, NC Chris Maestro, President 
 Chris was allowed to be very creative with this project. Sure, etching in the Durham Bulls logo was challenging enough but he added a few more creative ideas that turned this logo into a piece of art. This was installed on the 2nd level at the Durham Bulls Stadium in NC. Chris went through the ceiling of the space below and added fiber optics for the eyes and a timer for the "snort". Every 15 minutes during a game, the bulls eyes light up and the bull actually snorts steam. Fantastic job Chris and thanks for adding your special touch to a decorative concrete project.
