SGT has developed a new method of treating concrete surfaces. This methodology is protected by a US Patent and know-how and is a new technological development having a defined need in the market place.
Because Tek Gel™ for Profiling is gelled, it can be readily applied to flat, angled, round and inverted surfaces with minimal run-off. This allows for longer and in some cases, unlimited contact time thereby increasing the activity and efficacy of the product. It can also be concentrated in specific areas without effecting the remainder of the surface, if so desired.
Tek Gel™ for Profiling gelled acid products can be applied by spraying, brushing or rolling onto the surface to be treated. It is within the scope of the patent that the surface may be immersed into the product to obtain adequate cleaning, i.e. bolts, tools ect. for rust removal. The products are left in contact with the surface for 3-5 minutes in order to acquire a uniform profiled or treated surface.
After effectively profiling the concrete surface, the products are easily and readily rinsed away with water. The products are water-soluble and do not leave any soap, slick, slime or other residues on the surface. The products do not alter the pH of the concrete surface and therefore do not require neutralization, thereby eliminating a potentially expensive and time consuming operation.
The use of acids in concrete treatment products and in many manufacturing processes has until now, lacked important and beneficial characteristics which are avilable with SGT's patented technology. The gelled acids, commericalized by SGT may be produced at high viscosity levels and lower acid concentrations, while continuing to maintain efficacy because of increased contact lime. This characteristic also reflects the ability to create highly effictive acid products that are safer for application by the end user and safer to the enviroment.
Because the scope and parameters of this patented technology are extreamly broad and may encompass a broad spectrum of acid concentration ranges, compositions can be produced ulitizing a plurality of different acids or active ingredients. Designer products in which the viscosity gel to a thick gel, to a putty-like or near solid, can be created to provide the needs of specific end users and niche markets.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE / APPLICATION:
- Ready to use, DO NOT DILUTE
- Remove loose materials from surface
- Shake or stir contents well before applying
- Wet Surface and remove standing water
- Apply with care using an acid resistant brush, sponge, squeegee, roller, or low-pressure acid resistant sprayer
- Allow product to sit on surface 5 - 30 minutes
- Agitate product on surface with stiff brush
- Rinse thoroughly with water; when sufficiently rinsed subsequent neutralizing is not needed
- In extreme cases or if a deep etch is desired, a second application may be needed
- TEK GEL™ for Profiling works best with Portland Cement based concrete.
- Product can be pumped from a container by using an acid resistant hand pump.
- Product must be stirred or mixed well before use, with or without pump.
Read MSDS prior to use.
PRIMARY USE:
- Opens up "steel troweled" concrete surfaces (Profiles the surface)
- Produces a uniform etched surface for improved subsequent product adhesion
- Can be used on new or old concrete surfaces to remove rust, stains, algae, mineral and salts deposits, water parasites, efflorescence, oxidation and other foreign matter from concrete surfaces.
LIMITATIONS/INCOMPATIBILITIES:
- Avoid strong oxidizers, caustics, fabrics, carpets
- Avoid prolonged contact with metals and marble. Caution: If product
comes in contact with metals, flush with water to avoid damage.
- If used indoors, provide adequate ventilation
- Humidity increases the need for additional ventilation
- Excessive heat can cause evolution of gaseous hydrogen-chloride
- Avoid continuous direct sunlight
- Avoid freezing
- Do not reuse container. Follow all applicable Local, State, and Federal chemical disposal regulations.
